Adamawa State Urban Planning and Development Authority (ASUPDA) was established in 1985 through Edict No. 10 by the Adamawa State Government. The purpose was to extend the functions of the former Adamawa Capital Development Board (ACDB) to all Designated Urban Areas within the state.
The initial Edict was later replaced by the Adamawa State Urban Planning and Development Agency Law No. 12 of 2015 and subsequently by the Adamawa State Urban and Regional Planning Law No. 31 of 2018.
ASUPDA operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development. It is noteworthy that it was previously under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Lands, Survey, and Country Planning (MLSCP).
The primary mandate of ASUPDA is to oversee Urban Planning and Development Control within the Designated Urban Areas of Adamawa State.
